LINDA SHEPARD FOR CITY COUNCIL
GOALS
MY GOALS FOR THE CITY OF MISSION VIEJO
MAINTAIN THE FAMILY - FRIENDLY COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE OF MISSION VIEJO
My family and I had wonderful experiences in 28 years in Mission Viejo. Let’s keep that terrific community spirit and “California Promise” alive and well for others.
WORK TO PROMOTE MORE LOCAL CONTROL
Work with other cities to combat outside influences from Sacramento and even the OC Board of Supervisors that negatively impact our quality of life such as crime, restrictions, housing requirements, zoning, sober living, drug and detox homes, homelessness, etc.
SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT TO HELP REDUCE CRIME
As a widow of an Anaheim Police Sergeant (31 years), I understand the demands on our sheriff deputies. Changes in laws often make it harder for peace officers to protect law-abiding citizens.
SELF-DETERMINATION IN BUILDING OUT THE CITY OF MISSION VIEJO
The use of remaining land for housing, businesses and open space should be up to the taxpayers of Mission Viejo. There was and remains a vision for Mission Viejo and we need to stick to that vision and not be imposed upon by outside influences.
PROTECT LAKE MISSION VIEJO - A JEWEL OF OUR CITY
Work with the Santa Margarita Water District and Lake Mission Viejo Association to ensure adequate amounts of improved quality water for the lake so people and fish can thrive.
MONITOR ROADS AND TRAFFIC-SMOOTH FLOW & SAFETY
The City does an excellent job keeping traffic flowing. Roads are impacted by changes in surrounding cities and villages. The City of Mission Viejo needs to keep abreast of future growth in surrounding areas and have a voice in alternatives when there is potential impact to our city. Also, as E-bikes proliferate, we need to educate people of all ages on laws and safety.
MY ULTIMATE GOAL

Preserve and uphold the Mission Viejo
way of life built with strong regards to
"The California Promise!"
When it comes to quality of life, Mission Viejo invented it. The whole world changes for the better when you enter Mission Viejo.
The lifestyle of California, the California Promise, is alive and well in Mission Viejo.
